Video is black

The information in this article applies to:

  • WinWay Resume Deluxe Version 11 or later

Summary

  • Motion video does not play, but sound is heard
  • The video playback area is black

Details 

  • Windows updates KB2803821 and KB2834904 have been reported to disrupt video playback on numerous products
  • For more information see InfoWorld article
  • If you are using Windows 7:
    1. Select "Start," "Control Panel," "Programs," "Programs and features"
    2. Click on "View Installed Updates"
    3. In the list of updates, click on the "Name" column header to sort the updates by name
    4. Locate the update named "Security Update for Microsoft Windows (KB2803821)"
    5. Right click on the update and select "Uninstall"
  • If you are using Windows XP:
    1.  Select "Start," "Control Panel"
    2. Click on "Add/Remove Programs"
    3. At the top of the window, check the box marked "Show Updates"
    4. Click on the item named "Security Update for Windows Media Player (KB2834904)"
    5. Click on "Remove"
