You may notice an extra space under an unusually long heading

This situation is described in the following example:

Since the heading "Business Experience" is long, an additional space is inserted under it. This creates an inconsistency between the "Business Experience" heading and the "Education" heading.

If this space is not desired, you can take any of the following steps:

1. Click on the "Business Experience" section.
   
   Note the style bar (in versions 1 through 9, the style bar is horizontal and is located under the menu. In version 10 and up, the style bar is in the left column)
   
   Click on other styles and see the effect on the "Business Experience" section. You may wish to change the style on other sections for consistency.
   
   
2. Adjust the "Indent" value. Select File, Page Setup. Note the "Indent" figure. This is the distance from the left margin to the employer name "Sinclair Gardening" in the above example. Increase this number to allow for the heading "Business Experience" to fit within that space.
   
   
   
   
3. Use a shorter heading. In the menu, select Format, Headings. Click on the long heading ("Business Experience" in this example) and type a shorter heading instead
